Deck Shield Pro

Description

Deck Shield Pro is a water-based penetrating decking treatment. Its special formula works in different ways to protect and reduce slip without the use of aggregates or abrasives. Water is repelled from the surface, so the timber is dryer for longer periods, reducing the growth of spores and algae.

Ensure that the surface to be treated is dry, clean, and free from any contaminants, including dust, dirt, oil, grease, algae, and mould. Any previous coatings need to be completely removed prior to application. Algae, moss, and spores must be treated and removed with a good-quality algicide designed for this purpose. All residues of the algicide need to be removed and allowed to dry before applying Deck Shield Pro. Use a pressure washer to remove the dirt and grime from the decking grooves.

Shake the container well before use.

Ensure the surface is thoroughly dry and clean before proceeding. Do not pour directly onto the surface. Apply a generous, even coat using a low-pressure spray, brush, or long pile roller. For older or more porous surfaces, once the first coat has started to sink in (within 30 minutes), apply a second wet coat, removing any heavy pooling as you go. Remove as much excess product as possible.

Leave to dry for 24 hours.

Top Tips:

Use a leaf blower to disperse any pooling of the product. If a sealer/coating exists, this will need removing completely before using Deck Seal Pro
