Organic Stains

Organic stains, caused by natural materials such as leaves, algae, moss, and lichen, can deeply penetrate surfaces like stone, brick, and concrete, leaving unsightly marks that are difficult to remove. These stains result from natural oils, tannins, and other organic compounds embedding into porous surfaces over time. Even after washing away moss, algae, and lichen, organic stains can remain, leaving discoloration on the surface. PureSeal’s organic stain removers are formulated to break down these stubborn compounds, lifting stains and restoring surfaces to their original appearance without causing damage.

It’s important to note that these products are not biocides and should not be used as such. If a biofilm—such as algae, moss, or lichen—is present, it must be removed prior to using our organic stain removers. This can be done by washing, scraping, or applying a licensed biocide to ensure proper treatment. Biofilms, which are slimy layers of microorganisms, require specific cleaning methods to break their bond with the surface. Once the biofilm is removed, PureSeal’s organic stain removers effectively address the remaining stains, ensuring surfaces are clean and stain-free.
