Resin Bond

Our resin bond cleaning products are specifically formulated to clean the surface thoroughly without affecting the bond between the resin and aggregate. Over time, resin bond surfaces can accumulate dirt, algae, and organic debris, dulling their appearance. Our cleaners are designed to safely remove these contaminants while preserving the integrity and texture of the surface. It’s important to note that resin bond differs from resin bound: resin bond involves applying resin to the surface and scattering aggregate on top, creating a textured, non-permeable surface, whereas resin bound mixes resin and aggregate together to form a smooth, permeable finish.

At PureSeal, we do not recommend sealing resin bond surfaces. Resin-based sealers can compromise the bonding agent, leading to surface breakdown and reducing the durability of the installation. Water-based sealers, on the other hand, are not able to adhere properly to the bonding agent used in the resin bond process, resulting in ineffective sealing. For these reasons, maintaining resin bond surfaces with proper cleaning is essential to preserving their appearance and performance without the risk of damage from unsuitable sealers.
