Poultices work by drawing contaminants out of the substrate, rather than pushing them deeper in. This makes them ideal for use on stone and masonry, where maintaining surface integrity is just as important as achieving a clean finish.

How Poultices Work

A poultice is a thick paste applied directly to the contaminated area. It combines:

  • An active cleaning agent, formulated for a specific stain type.

  • An absorbent medium, which pulls dissolved contaminants into itself as it dries.

Once the poultice has cured, it is carefully removed, taking the stain with it. Because the paste stays in place during treatment, it offers precise, controlled cleaning — reducing runoff and minimising risk to adjacent materials.

IronOut Pro – Rust and Iron Stain Removal

Rust is one of the most common but difficult masonry stains. It often comes from fixings, irrigation systems, or nearby metalwork. IronOut Pro penetrates deep into porous materials to dissolve and extract iron staining, restoring stone, brick, and concrete back to their natural colour.

CopperOut Pro – Copper Oxide Stain Removal

Runoff from copper roofing, gutters, or flashing can leave unsightly blue-green streaks down stone façades. CopperOut Pro is formulated to break down copper oxides and draw them out of the surface, returning masonry to a clean, even finish.

CarbonOut Pro – Soot, Pollution and Carbon Deposits

Busy roads, industrial areas, and urban environments often leave buildings coated with atmospheric grime, soot, and black carbon staining. CarbonOut Pro is a powerful alkaline poultice designed to lift these deposits safely. It is also effective for controlled removal of certain coatings from stone and brick.

Because CarbonOut Pro is alkaline, we recommend following up with NeutraRinse Pro to neutralise the surface and ensure a balanced pH.

CleanOut Pro – General Heavy Soiling and Deep Cleaning

When staining is less specific but just as stubborn, CleanOut Pro is the right choice. This versatile poultice targets general heavy soiling, organic matter, and ingrained dirt, making it ideal for larger façades, patios, and restoration projects where surfaces need an intensive clean before further treatment.

PeelOff Pro – Waterless Peelable Cleaning

PeelOff Pro is a latex-based, peelable poultice for gentle but thorough cleaning of delicate substrates. Applied as a paste, it dries to form a flexible film that locks in fine dust, soot, and light residues. Once fully dried, it can be peeled away in sheets, lifting contaminants with it.

  • Safe on all surfaces: PeelOff Pro is EDTA-free and safe to use on polished stone and marble, as well as masonry, terracotta, plaster, tiles, and more.

  • Waterless cleaning: Ideal for heritage interiors, galleries, plant rooms or façades where water cannot be used.

  • Not a paint remover: PeelOff Pro is for dust, soot, and grime — if you need to remove coatings or paint, choose one of our dedicated coating removal products or opt for CarbonOut Pro.
