Carbon & Fire Damage - Brickwork
Carbon and fire damage on brickwork can be particularly challenging, especially when soot or smoke residues penetrate deeply. For lighter carbon staining, a strong cleaner may suffice, but for severe, ingrained damage, hydrofluoric acid may be necessary. Due to the potency of hydrofluoric acid, strict safety precautions are essential, including appropriate PPE and adherence to handling guidelines.
Before using hydrofluoric acid, assess the severity of the staining and consider starting with less aggressive cleaners. If hydrofluoric acid is deemed necessary, closely follow all product instructions and take care to prevent runoff into surrounding areas. For best results, apply the product in targeted areas, monitor its effectiveness, and rinse thoroughly once cleaning is complete.
