What Is Softwashing?

What Is Softwashing Top Box
A Low Pressure Cleaning Alternative

Softwashing is a low pressure cleaning alternative to pressure washing that uses chemicals to remove and control algae, lichen and other organic biofilms. Both techniques, equipment, pressures, and chemicals used for soft washing and pressure washing are distinct. Pressure washing uses much stronger water pressure than soft washing. Mold, mildew, bacteria, algae, fungus, moss, and other microorganisms can be controlled with the softwashing method combined with our HSE approved and label compliant biocides.

What 2

Softwashing is a safe cleaning process that has zero risk of damaging your hard surfaces. It is a safe, effective and affordable low pressure cleaning process. Soft washing is the safest way to clean roofs, render, driveways etc without damaging them. Plus, since it contains biocidal and anti-bacterial products, you will get a much longer lasting result.

Softwashing can be used on all hard surfaces providing that you use the correct chemicals designed specifically for the surface you are treating. Here at PureSeal we have our own range of softwashing chemicals that have been developed by our chemists to ensure that all surfaces can be cleaned effectively to achieve the best results. Our PureSeal products have the capabilities to remove all types of biofilms from all surfaces and we know which of our products will perform the best to get you the perfect finish with longevity.

What Is Softwashing Third Box

Roofs for example, the build-up of moss on a roof does not only look unsightly but it can lead to blocked gutters and drains therefore it is important to remove any growth and get it under control so it does not return. After removing the moss using the process you agree to, which can include scraping the roof or low pressure hot wash, an application of one of our licensed and registered biocides will be applied which will kill any remaining spores, self-cleanse the treated area and control the return of any biofilms leaving the treated surface free from re-growth for over 3 years.

What 4
Pro’s of softwashing:
  • Significantly lower risk of damage
  • Longer lasting results due to our COPR registered biocides and label compliant surface cleaners
  • Walking on roofs eliminated as roofs can be cleaned from gutter level
  • Uses less water compared to pressure washing
  • All stains can be removed due to our range of chemicals
  • Little noise compared to pressure washing
Con’s of softwashing:
  • Our Pro range biocides can only be applied by trained professionals
  • Patience required with some biocides as they have a self-cleanse process
  • Surfaces can look worse before they self-cleanse when using biocides
