Carbon & Fire Damage - Limestone/Travertine

Our carbon and fire damage removal products are specially formulated to address tough soot and carbon staining on limestone, a calcite-based material that requires special care. Due to its composition, limestone can be easily damaged by regular acids, which can erode and discolor the surface. For this reason, removing carbon and fire damage from limestone necessitates the use of strong caustic products, which are designed to lift and dissolve carbon deposits safely without harming the stone’s delicate structure.

In cases where caustic solutions are insufficient to fully remove deep-set carbon stains, media abrasion may be necessary as a follow-up treatment. Media abrasion carefully removes remaining residues without compromising the stone’s natural appearance.
